Their well-earned reputation has been based on manufacturing high-quality & highly-engineered products, which are designed and tested to stand the test of time and endure the rigours of life within buildings across the globe.
In recent years, Briton's hallmark of quality has been applied to a huge amount of different products, which include locks, cylinders, door furniture, automatic openings, and accessories. All these have been backed by the same commitment to quality and testing, meaning that after a generation, Briton is still the brand to trust.
Briton Door Closers
The Briton door closer range includes best sellers like the 996 electromagnetic door closer, and the 2003V overhead closer. We also supply door closer spare parts such as the fixing kit, armoured cable loop, and replacement solenoid for the Briton 996. Briton fire door closers include cam action and rack and pinion closers, models with universal fixing, and backcheck function.
To compliment their range of overhead door closers, Briton produces an electromagnetic door holder with a separate surface mounted cover. A door holder can be used to compliantly hold open a fire door as they are tested to BS EN 1155. When used in conjunction with a standard overhead closer, CE marked and tested to BS EN 1154, they will safely close a fire door when the alarm sounds or the power is cut.
Briton Panic Door Hardware
Briton panic hardware can be used on single and double door applications to BS EN 179 and BS EN 1125. There are also options for outside access devices (OADs) to suit different access requirements. This includes the lever or knob version of the 1413, and the 9260 digital lock access device. So, select a key-locking or code entry model and make sure to check the fixings suit your door thickness. OADs should be fitted to the first opening leaf of pairs of doors.
The Briton 376 series of emergency exit hardware has panic bars with single point latching or 2-point locking panic bolts. Install touchbar and push bar hardware to any door used by the public and for room occupancy over 60 people. The touch or push bar must extend at least 60% across the width of the door. When using panic hardware with vertical bolts, check the height of the door and the bolt rods work together.
In areas with trained staff, and a room occupancy under 60 people, emergency exit hardware to EN 179 can be fitted. This hardware can be operated by a lever handle, pull pad, or push pad, like the Briton 1438. Make sure to have the require operational and instructional signs on all fire and escape doors, like Fire Exit Keep Clear signs.
