An electric strike lock is a device typically fitted to the frame of the door and works in conjunction with a dead latch. The strike will secure the latch in place until such time as an electronic keypad, proximity reader, card reader of other access control device is operated; thus releasing the strike plate to allow for entry or exit through the door.
