Door Controls Direct is a trading name of Spiller Door Controls Ltd.

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website, for example, when you contact us about products and services, place an order, or sign-up to receive our newsletters. We also obtain basic personal information from you should you call us to request a quotation or proceed with an order. We will only request enough information to perform this task – your name, company name, address, email address and contact number.

Should you be a resident of the Republic of Ireland, we will also request confirmation of your VAT number for EC compliance purposes.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when. If you purchase a product from us through the website, using your card - information is not held by us. It is collected by our third party payment processors (SagePay and PayPal); who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions, as explained below.

Should you make a payment by calling us, we keep a copy of the merchant receipt (WorldPay), securely locked away for a period of 6 years to fulfil our statutory obligations.

How is your information used?

We may use your information to:

  • process orders that you have submitted;
  • to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;
  • dealing with entries into a competition;
  • seek your views or comments on the services we provide;

Third Party Product Providers we work in association with: We work closely with trusted third party suppliers to bring you a range of quality and reliable products and services. Occasionally, we may need to involve them in the event that there is a problem with your purchase and we will always request that you contact them directly. If you wish for them to contact you, we can provide them with your contact details but only if you provide us with explicit permission to do so and we will confirm this with you via an email. In some cases, the third party will be acting as a data controller of your information and therefore we advise you to read their Privacy Policy.  These third party product providers will share your information with us which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

When you are using our secure checkout pages, your payment is processed by a third party payment processor, who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, please contact us.

We work extremely closely with Teapot Creative https://www.teapotcreative.co.uk/ who may undertake maintenance on our website, on our behalf, from time to time. They are also committed to full compliance with GDPR.

Your choices

Website recording

Our web site may also use the Hotjar web site recording service. Hotjar may record mouse clicks, mouse movements, page scrolling and any text keyed into website forms. The information collected does not include bank details or any sensitive personal data. Data collected by Hotjar is for Door Controls Direct’s internal use only. The information collected is used to improve our website usability and is stored and used for aggregated and statistical reporting. Hotjar have also provided us with a statement of compliance with GDPR.
