Automatic window openers are often installed as part of a building’s smoke and heat exhaust ventilation system, also referred to as SHEV. Activation is typically achieved using a volt-free normally open/common (NO/C) contact from a dedicated fire alarm interface or the auxiliary output of the fire panel. When the fire alarm is triggered, this contact closes to initiate the SHEV sequence.
