The GEZE Powerchain is a powerful window operator designed for large and heavy façade or roof windows. Engineered for natural ventilation and certified smoke and heat extraction (SHEV) systems, it ensures rapid response and reliable operation in demanding environments. The GEZE Powerchain supports window leafs weighing up to 200kg. This makes it an ideal solution for automating large, heavy windows in modern buildings. It delivers a powerful tensile and pressure force of up to 600N, ensuring reliable operation even under demanding environmental conditions.
Certified to EN 12101-2, the GEZE Powerchain provides assured performance in smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems. In an emergency, the chain drive achieves a rapid RWA opening speed of 15mm per second, delivering the full 600mm stroke within 60 seconds.
The SHEV system is activated externally via a signal from the building’s fire alarm system. Activation is typically achieved using a volt-free normally open/common (NO/C) contact from a dedicated fire alarm interface or the auxiliary output of the fire panel. When the fire alarm is triggered, this contact closes to initiate the SHEV sequence.
Its intelligent IQ windowdrive technology ensures precise control, enabling reliable daily ventilation without compromising emergency readiness. This electric actuator unit is tested and approved as part of a SHEV system, making it suitable for projects where life safety compliance is critical.
The Powerchain window opener supports synchronised operation of up to four units without requiring an external control unit. DIP switches allow for easy configuration of solo, master, and slave modes for grouped openings, ideal for façade systems with multiple window leaves.
