Controlled Door Interlocking for High-Security Areas

The RGL door lock interface module is a reliable solution for managing two-door interlock systems. It makes sure that only one door can be open at any time, helping to regulate building access, protect vulnerable occupants, and maintain security in secure areas.

Whether you're installing access systems in a school, nursery, hospital, or reception area of a protected building, this module offers dependable control where unauthorised or simultaneous entry must be prevented.

Key Product Features:

  • DLIM: RGL door lock interface module
  • Control two doors for interlocking
  • Two separate inputs/outputs

Separate outputs lock door 1 and 2

Separate push to exit inputs for door 1 and 2

  • Operating voltage: 12V DC
  • Lock outputs are voltage-free contacts 5A @ 24v
  • Dimensions: 70mm x 60mm
  • Unboxed weight: 44g

Ideal for Secure Environments with Safeguarding Needs

The DLIM is especially useful in settings such as nurseries, schools, healthcare facilities, and commercial buildings with entrance vestibules. It helps prevent situations where vulnerable individuals, such as young children or patients, accidentally move through restricted areas unmonitored.

For example, if the door from the office or reception to the main part of the school is opened, the front exit remains locked to provide a crucial layer of control and safeguarding. This function significantly reduces the risk of tailgating, unsupervised egress, or unauthorised access.

By managing access between two points, facilities can better regulate foot traffic, reduce unauthorised movement, and maintain a secure perimeter. This two door interlock module also makes sure that staff can safely oversee visitors, deliveries, or contractors, one entrance at a time.

Whether it’s a main entrance and internal door, or two internal doors in a sensitive area, this module gives you control over the access routes.

Two Door Interlocking Access Systems

The DLIM is designed to maintain strict control over the flow of people through two doors, making it ideal for environments where safety and privacy are critical. This interlocking functionality is vital in environments where access and safeguarding must be tightly overseen.

This module prevents both doors in a secure area from opening at the same time. It checks for door status via feedback from monitored electric locks, which report whether a door is open or closed in real time. When Door 1 is open, Door 2 remains locked, and vice versa, until the system receives a signal from a monitored electric locking device that Door 1 is closed.

Each door has its own dedicated output and push to exit button input on the module, which allows you to create a tailored setup specific to your door’s needs. The module works with exit buttons, making it ideal for reception environments where manual management is required.

Integration with Door Access Control Systems

The door lock interface module operates on 12V DC to support compatibility with a wide variety of access control components.

It requires a monitored electric locking device, such as maglocks like the ML600DM for double doors or the ML1200M and ML1200DM with a 545kg holding force, which signals the door status back to the interface. This monitoring makes sure the interface module only permits one door to be unlocked at a time, based on real time door position feedback.

The RGL access power supply unit features magnetic standoffs for easy board management. Unlike adhesive tape or screw fixing, these standoffs securely hold the board in place while allowing it to be repositioned easily and without any tools. They also raise the board to create space underneath for tidy cable routing. This setup makes future expansion or adding components simple.

Pairing your system with traffic light indicators gives a clear visual cue at the door, showing whether access is allowed. It’s a simple way to reduce confusion. Choose from the standard traffic light model or a slim architrave version for narrow frames or tight spots.

The DLIM offers flexibility to tailor your access control setup to your security requirements. It supports control via push to exit buttons, keypads, or proximity readers, allowing you to adapt access levels to your facility’s needs.

For example, a lower risk external door can be operated by push buttons on both sides, while an internal door may have keypad access. For higher security, keypads or proximity readers can be fitted on both sides of both doors.

What type of electric locking device can I use with the door lock interface module?
You’ll need a monitored electric locking device, such as a monitored maglock, electric strike, or solenoid or motor lock. The device must provide feedback to the door lock interface module.
