Code Based Access With Key Override
The Keylex 700 Series delivers secure, code based access for everyday users, removing the hassle of key management. There are no batteries, wiring, or electronics to maintain, making the Keylex 700 digital lock both cost-effective and straightforward to install.
It also includes a Euro profile key override facility (cylinder and lockcase are not supplied). This makes sure building managers and authorised personnel can always gain entry via key. This is especially useful in sites where codes are updated regularly for security reasons. The override provides an additional layer of security back-up, combining the convenience of a digital lock with the reassurance of controlled key access.
The K700 keypad also offers a passage function, which allows free access from both sides when enabled, ideal for busy daytime use or during deliveries. Free egress from the inside lever is maintained at all times to support safe exit.
Keylex 700 Mechanical Digital Codelock For Security
The K700 digital lock uses a 12 button stainless steel keypad that supports more than 4,000 possible codes. Non-sequential entry means the digits can be pressed in any order.
The manufacturer recommended code length is 3 to 6 digits, making it easier to remember while maintaining strong security. The satin stainless steel buttons resist visible wear, helping to prevent unauthorised users from identifying the code through frequently pressed keys.
The slipping clutch mechanism helps protect the internal working of the lock even under forced attack.
See the product documents section for the downloadable Keylex 700 instructions manual, including code change guidance.
Fire Door Compliance
The Keylex 700 lock, when fitted with the appropriate lockcase and intumescent protection (not supplied), has been assessed to BS EN 1634-1 for 30 minutes of fire resistance on timber doors. Contact our team to enquire if you need the lockcase and intumescent to suit this digital lock.
Although the passage function can be disabled, it must remain in use on fire rated doors to achieve certification. Always consult the fire test evidence for your specific doorset.
