The Simonswerk TECTUS TE 540 3D Energy hinge is a concealed hinge solution with integrated power transfer, engineered for demanding heavy-duty doors. Designed for both timber and steel frames, this hinge allows for electrical components in the door leaf, such as electronic locks and other access control system components, to be powered safely and invisibly.

*When installing the TE 540 3D Energy to FD30 doors, a separate intumescent kit is required. 

Concealed Hinge with Energy Transfer Built-In

Simonswerk TECTUS Energy hinges enable secure and discreet power transmission between the door frame and door leaf using an enclosed 16-wire ribbon cable. Each wire delivers up to 0.8A at 50V, providing a reliable concealed solution for powered locks, electric strikes, and access control components.

The ribbon cable is not visible or accessible, even when the door is open, providing a closed system that maintains clean, uninterrupted door lines. This makes the hinge ideal for high-end commercial environments such as office developments, healthcare settings, and education facilities, where visual consistency and functionality are a priority.

To complete the installation, two Simonswerk connectors are required per hinge. One fitted to the frame side and one to the door leaf. These use a clip-and-connect system for simple, secure connection and are sold separately in the following options:

• Round cable: choose from 3m or 10m lengths
• Universal adapter connector
• Adapter 1: designed specifically for use with FUHR motor locks

High Load Capacity for Heavier Doors with 3D Adjustability 

These TECTUS Energy hinges support a door weight of up to 120kg when two hinges are used.

Certifire Approved TECTUS Energy Fire Door Hinge

The Simonswerk TECTUS Energy TE 540 3D hinge is Certifire Approved for use on 30 minute timber fire doors with timber frames when installed with the 8823 intumescent kit, sold separately. The 2mm thick intumescent pack is self-adhesive and has been designed specifically to suit this TECTUS energy hinge. It should be applied to the hinge body and behind the forends.

The Certifire certificate is available to download from the product document section. The suitability of these conductor hinges for fire doors depends on the construction of the door. Always follow the fire test evidence for your door to ensure compliance.
