Abloy EL402 Solenoid Door Lock for Secure and Reliable Door Control

The EL402 electric lock delivers high security access control for doors subject to frequent use, making it ideal for both exterior entrances and internal doors. It features a symmetrical double action trigger bolt and adjustable backset. This unit is suitable for installation on swinging push or pull doors, including ones with narrow stiles. 

This Abloy solenoid lock can be controlled by various items of access control, including keypads, timers, or a proximity card reader, and can be integrated with automatic swing door operators. It is suitable for frame mounting above the door or vertical installation. 

The EL402 automatically deadlocks when the door closes, providing immediate security, and instantly releases the deadlocking when activated. Mechanical override is possible via a push pad, key, or thumbturn, ensuring dependable operation.

The EL402 Abloy Lock with Adjustable Backset

The adjustable backset of this unit promotes installation flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of door stile depths. With five options (25mm, 28mm, 30mm, 33mm, and 35mm), you can adapt the lock to suit varying door requirements on site. This eliminates the need to stock multiple size variations and simplifies maintenance and repair processes, saving both time and cost.

Choose Fail Safe or Fail Secure Function

This Assa Abloy solenoid lock is available in two models.

• Fail Safe: Unlocks when power is lost, ideal for prioritising a safe exit.
• Fail Secure: Remains locked during power failure, preferred for securing sensitive or restricted areas.

Abloy Door Control Solutions

To support a complete installation, Abloy offers a range of high performance door hardware, including door closers, solenoid locks, and motor locks.

The DC240 is an EN 2-5 overhead door closer with a scissor arm, while the DC330 EN 1-4 cam action door closer features a slide channel arm. Door closers should be fitted to access control doors to promote security.

For electric locking, the EL561 is a fire rated DIN standard solenoid lock with site reversible fail safe/secure functionality. If you require motor locking, the EL520 can be used on panic and emergency exit doors when fitted with the correct hardware.

Please note that this Abloy EL402 lock is not suitable for fire doors. For a narrow profile electric lock that is fire tested, we recommend the Effeff 351U80.
