Temperature Resistant

The Abloy DC240 door closer is built to withstand extreme temperature conditions, making it suitable for diverse environments. With a temperature rating of 0.2, it remains fully functional even in challenging weather conditions. It comfortably operates on a temperature range of -30 to +50°C, so can be used on the vast majority of internal and external doors.

The DC240 accommodates various structural conditions, allowing for easy and versatile installation. It can be fitted in the following mounting positions:

Adjustable Closing Force and Speed

Equipped with easily accessible regulating valves, The Abloy DC240 closer provides you with complete control over the closing force. This feature allows you to fine-tune the door's closing strength, ensuring optimal performance and user convenience. It operates between EN 2 at the lower range and EN 6 at the highest end of the range. The closer must be adjusted to a minimum power size of EN 3 if is being installed on a fire control door.

The adjustments to the closing speed, latching speed, and backcheck adjustable via front-facing regulating valves. It has thermodynamic valves for consistent performance across a variety of applications.

The closing speed is variable between 180°-15° then the adjustable latching speed comes into play from 15°-0°. Backcheck Function for Controlled Door Movement

The Abloy DC240 features backcheck function that provides an extra layer of control and safety when in use. Backcheck function slows down the door's opening speed during the initial opening arc, preventing it from being forcefully thrown open by strong draughts or high winds. We would always recommend fitting a door stop to doors that have a door closer fitted, even if it has backcheck function. Select from a range of floor mounted doorstops in different designs and finishes, or wall mounted/projection door stops in varying lengths.

The fitting instructions cover the DC240, DC240DA, and the different arms that can be supplied with this closer - the DC190 and DC199 standard arms, plus the DC191 hold open arm (not suitable for use on a fire rated door).

This closer with link arm has a detachable joint allowing for easy installation. The top section of the arm can be initially adjusted whilst the lower section of arm is instaled separately into the body of the closer. Further adjustments can then be made when the two sections are fixed together.
