Built For Flexibility And Reliable Performance

The LCN 1261 door closer supports universal mounting, allowing it to be installed in multiple configurations. This flexibility allows it to be used across multiple door types within a facility, reducing the need for multiple variants and ensuring a consistent, professional appearance.

With spring power adjustment from EN 1-4, it can be precisely calibrated to suit the specific size and weight of each door for consistent closing performance. This makes it ideal for standard internal doors where controlled closing is essential.

An adjustable hydraulic backcheck provides resistance when doors are opened too forcefully, helping to prevent damage to doors, walls, and hardware. This feature makes the 1261 door closer a dependable choice for areas prone to misuse or unfamiliar users, such as school corridors, healthcare settings, classrooms, hospitality venues, and retail spaces.

Fire Door Tested And Safety Compliant

This model is independently tested to BS EN 1634-1:2014 for timber fire doors requiring up to 120 minutes of fire resistance. It also complies with BS EN 1154 for mechanical door closers and is both CE and UKCA marked, meeting current standards for performance, durability, and regulatory compliance.

Although this door closer offers an adjustable power size range from EN 1 to EN 4, the minimum required power size for use on fire doors is EN 3. This is based on the requirements of BS EN 1154, which sets the performance standards for controlled door closing devices. Always check the fire test evidence for your door to ensure compliance and maintain certification.

Installation With a Professional Finish

Contractors benefit from the peel-and-stick installation template, which saves time during installation. The scissor arm design includes joints that accommodate minor misalignments in trim or frame, making it easier to install on retrofit applications or where surface levels vary slightly.

The included plastic cover gives a clean appearance without compromising function.

A Practical Choice For Controlled Door Closing

The LCN 1261 surface door closer combines adjustability and compliance, making it a reliable choice for light to medium-use commercial doors. Whether you're upgrading existing doors or specifying for a new project, the 1261 offers certified performance.

What’s the difference between EN and ANSI power sizes?
EN power sizes are defined by BS EN 1154, the British and European standard for door closers. ANSI power sizes follow the American standard. While both measure closing force, they use different classification systems.
