Easy To See In An Emergency
In standby mode the EDR-IL-TP remains illuminated green, making it easy for building occupants to locate during an emergency. When pressed, the LED switches to red and the integrated sounder activates, giving clear confirmation that the door has been released and the direction of the escape route.
For building teams, the change in colour and local sounder also makes the activated point easy to identify. This speeds up investigation after accidental operation and helps reduce unnecessary engineer call-outs and security downtime.
For compliance, the unit should be installed in line with the building’s fire safety strategy. To support safe evacuation, photoluminescent fire exit signs with directional arrows or “push bar to open” signage for final exit doors with panic hardware are also available. Explore our full signage range to clearly label your escape routes.
A red fire document box provides secure storage for logs, maintenance records, and emergency contact details, ideally placed near a fire alarm panel or along the escape route for quick access.
Quick And Simple Reset
The unit uses the familiar “In Case of Emergency Break Glass” format, but resets with a key rather than replacing glass. After activation, the mechanism is restored by key without the need for consumables.
Two keys are supplied as standard, and replacement covers can be ordered if they become worn or damaged. The cover does not need replacing after use.
Triple Pole Illuminated Emergency Break Glass
With three separate relays, the EDR-IL-TP offers greater flexibility than single or double pole units. When pressed, it can simultaneously activate multiple devices such as an electric lock, an alarm, and an automatic door, or any other components required on site. This makes it a versatile emergency door release unit, supporting varied safety solutions.
RGL offer single or double pole units in a different design or dual units that combine release with exit button, touch free sensor, or key switch are also available for sites that want combined control. Explore our complete break glass and exit device ranges.
