Automated Testing for Emergency Lighting Compliance

This self test LED blade light eliminates the need for manual power-down testing. Its built-in system runs routine tests automatically. An LED status indicator provides clear visual feedback, so any faults can be identified and addressed quickly.

This reduces disruption in occupied buildings and saves valuable time, helping you maintain compliance without the need for scheduled manual emergency light testing. Self test models are ideal for larger facilities where manual testing can be resource-intensive. A manual test version is also available for smaller sites.

Select Maintained or Non-Maintained Mode

This illuminated fire exit sign supports both maintained and non-maintained operation. The mode is selected during installation.

Maintained mode keeps the sign illuminated at all times. This suits areas of public access such as corridors, lobbies, and cinemas where constant visibility is expected.

Non-maintained mode activates the lighting only if there is a mains power outage. This suits spaces where permanent illumination is not required, such as non-public areas like offices, but escape route guidance remains essential.

Both options deliver the same three hour battery duration, giving occupants time to follow exit routes safely.

LED Emergency Exit Sign Mounting Options

These illuminated exit signs can be wall or ceiling mounted as standard, making installation straightforward across most internal environments. Although the sign is double sided, the standard wall mounting method positions it against the wall, so only one face is visible.

Additional mounting kits are available to support different installation needs. A flag kit allows the sign to project at 90°, keeping both sides visible when mounted on a wall. A recessed kit provides a more discreet finish by concealing most of the unit within the ceiling. A hanging kit is ideal for high ceilings or open spaces.

These options help you install this safety signage where it will be most visible and effective for your building’s emergency escape route.

Directional Safety Signs for Escape Route Guidance

The sign is supplied with an up arrow legend however, if your escape route layout requires left, right, or down arrows, alternative legends are sold separately. The legend can be changed during installation by following the included instructions.

Clear, consistent fire safety signs helps building users make quick, confident decisions in an emergency. Using the same style of signs across a site supports recognition and reduces confusion during evacuation.

We offer a selection of fire exit signage to clearly identify escape routes. For final exit door operation, explore our range of panic hardware, including push pads and touch bars.

What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained emergency lighting?
Maintained emergency lights stay illuminated, even when mains power is on. Non-maintained lights only turn on during a power failure.
What is a self test emergency light?
A self test emergency light runs automatic checks, reducing the need for manual testing. Any faults are shown via the LED status indicator.
Does a self test emergency light still need visual checks?
Yes. Self test emergency lights still require visual inspection to check LED status indicators and identify any faults.
Can a blade emergency light be wall mounted?
Yes. Blade emergency lights can be wall mounted as standard, with one visible face. A separate flag mounting kit allows the sign to project from the wall and remain double sided.
Can the arrow direction be changed on this LED blade exit sign?
Yes. The blade sign is supplied with an up arrow as standard. Alternative legends with down, left, or right arrows are solds separately and can be swapped on site.
