Certified For Public Use And Life Safety Compliance

The 2227EO is tested to BS EN 1125:2008, the European standard for panic exit devices on escape doors in public buildings. It is designed to provide safe and effective egress for building occupants with no prior knowledge of the door hardware.

This makes it ideal for use in high traffic public spaces, including educational buildings, healthcare facilities, offices, shops, and transport hubs. The responsive touch bar and intuitive operation allow a single action exit in an emergency.

Installation must comply with EN 1125 fitting heights: typically 900mm–1100mm from finished floor level, or lower where children are the primary users.

Reliable Egress In Demanding Environments

A touch bar operates with a simple forward push, rather than a hinged action. The mechanism is housed within a casing with no gaps around the bar. You can read more about touch bars and other panic hardware types in our Types of Panic Hardware blog.

With top and bottom vertical rods and a heavy gauge steel body, this Von Duprin panic bar provides strong, consistent performance in areas where abuse and heavy use are expected. The anti-friction bolts help reduce resistance during operation and extend the life of the device and strike components.

Its non-handed design simplifies specification and installation, while the 94mm projection makes it suitable for doors with limited backset.

Complete Your Door Setup With Trims And Safety Accessories

Built for high traffic environments, it provides dependable operation and secure egress, making it a proven choice for public buildings and commercial sites.

What’s the difference between a touch bar and a push bar panic hardware?
A touch bar panic device has a bar that is enclosed in a housing and it operates with an in and out motion. A push bar panic device features a hinged bar that pivots when pressed. Both allow fast and safe emergency exit but differ in movement and design style.
