Key Override Cylinder For Securiton GL1FLM Locking Systems

This Schlage mortice cam cylinder is compatible with the Securiton GL1F monitored gate lock, enabling mechanical key override functionality when used with the fail secure (fail locked) model.

This high-quality mortice cylinder provides a critical manual access point for access controlled gates where reliability and contingency planning are essential. Fitted directly into the lock housing of the GL1FLM, this component supports secure mechanical entry during power loss or access system failure.

The GL1FSM fail safe model is not suitable for key override.

Key Override for the GL1-FLM: Secure Access During Power Or Credential Failures

This cylinder can provide manual key override with the GL1FLM variant of the Securiton GL1F monitored gate lock. This is the fail secure model, also known as power to unlock, meaning the gate remains locked during a power outage unless overridden manually by key.

If you're specifying the GL1F range for perimeter security or controlled access zones where a reliable mechanical override is essential, this cylinder must be paired with the GL1FLM lock.

Fail secure locks are commonly used in perimeter security, where it’s critical to keep gates locked during a power outage. However, this can create a challenge when power is lost and electronic access methods are unavailable.

This mortice cylinder addresses that issue by allowing authorised users to unlock the gate using a physical key, even during a power failure or if access control systems are compromised due to reader damage, keypad faults, or changes to access credentials.

This feature is particularly valuable for facilities managers, security teams, and contractors responsible for multiple sites or high risk areas. It offers confidence that critical gates can always be accessed, without relying solely on electronic systems.
