The Tedee Door Sensor adds real-time door position monitoring to your Tedee Smart Lock. It detects whether your door is open or closed and displays this status in the Tedee app.
This small wireless device improves automatic locking, prevents locking on an open door, and adds additional security alerts. It works exclusively with Tedee PRO, Tedee GO, and Tedee GO2 smart locks.
For full remote functionality, including live activity log, the paired smart lock must be connected to a Wi-Fi connected Tedee Bridge.

Smarter Locking with Door Position Detection
A smart lock confirms whether it is locked or unlocked. The Tedee Door Sensor confirms that the door itself is fully closed.
The device consists of two small components: a sensor and a magnet. One mounts to the door leaf and the other to the frame using pre-installed self-adhesive pads. By measuring the distance between the two, the sensor determines whether the door is open or closed.
The lock will not extend the bolt if the door is left open. Once the door closes, automatic locking can trigger immediately if this setting is enabled in the app.
Door Position Sensors Prevent Locking on an Open Door
Without a door sensor, a smart lock can attempt to lock even if the door is ajar. This may cause damage to the door or frame. The Tedee Door Sensor stops the lock from activating while the door remains open and only allows locking once the door is fully closed.
This protects the lock mechanism and improves security.
Door and Lock Status Monitoring in Real Time
When paired with a Tedee Smart Lock, the door sensor displays live door status in the Tedee app alongside the lock state.
You can see:
- If the lock is locked or unlocked
- Whether the door is open or closed
The door sensor connects via Bluetooth and confirms the door is closed before the lock activates.
When the smart lock is connected to a Tedee Bridge, sold separately, the door and lock status are available remotely. You can receive push notifications if the door remains open beyond a preset time, and all openings and closings are logged in real time within the activity history.
Without a bridge, the sensor still prevents locking on an open door, supports automatic locking once closed, and logs activity locally via Bluetooth.
