In a home setting, the bridge allows you to control the door when you are not physically there. You can unlock remotely for family members, visitors, or carers, as well as remove access instantly if plans change. Notifications confirm when the door is used, giving clear visibility.
Voice control through compatible smart home systems allows you to check the lock status or unlock the door using Amazon Alexa or Google Home. The Tedee PRO smart lock can connect directly to Apple Home and Siri without a bridge. However, adding one enables remote management and full internet-based control beyond local Bluetooth use.
Smart Lock Bridge in Short-Term Rental Properties
For Airbnbs and holiday rentals, the bridge removes the need to attend the property for access changes. Digital access can be issued remotely and scheduled to align with booking dates. The live activity log shows when guests arrive or leave, without requiring you to be on site.
When connected to a Tedee Keypad and the Tedee desktop portal, the system can integrate with booking platforms such as Airbnb and other channel management systems. This enables automated access management, where temporary PIN codes are generated and shared ahead of arrival, then expire automatically after check-out. Multiple smart locks can connect to one bridge if they are within Bluetooth range.
