The Boss TS5.225 Door Closer With Adjustable Power Size

The Boss TS5.225 is a rack and pinion door closer with a scissor arm and semi-radius cover. It features an adjustable power size range of EN 2-5, making it suitable for doors up to 1250mm wide. With universal installation options, it supports flexible specification across a broad range of commercial and public building types. 

This door closer is CE marked, UKCA marked, and Certifire Approved for fire rated timber and steel doors.

The Boss TS5.225 Fire Door Closer

This Boss door closer is tested to BS EN 1154, BS EN 1634, and Certifire Approved for timber fire rated doors up to 120 minutes and steel fire doors up to 240 minutes. 

Please note that the Certifire certificate only covers Fig. 1 and Fig. 66 installations. The Certifire is available to download from the product document section for further guidance. Always consult the test evidence for your door to ensure a compliant installation. 

The minimum power size suitable for a fire door closer is EN 3 and the TS5.225 is factory preset to EN 3. Follow the guidance on the installation instructions for adjusting to different power sizes.

Backcheck and Delayed Action Functions Explained

The Boss TS5.225 door closer allows you to tailor door performance to the needs of your building and environment.

• Delayed action introduces a short pause before the door begins to close, providing additional clearance time. This is beneficial in care facilities, schools, and warehouses, where accessibility and movement of people or equipment are critical.
• Backcheck helps to protect from forceful door opening. This is ideal for educational settings and public buildings. We recommend installing a suitable door stop to support protection.

Please note that when the TS5.225 is installed in the Fig. 66 configuration, the backcheck and delayed action functions are non-functional.
