The dormakaba TS73 EMF is a rack and pinion electromagnetic door closer. It is available with either swing free or hold open function. This replacement transfer cable loop and junction box is suitable for use with both variants of the closer.

Installing a Replacement dormakaba Door Cable Loop

The replacement distributor box cabling can be routed through the top or bottom of the door closer body. If the cable connection is underneath, this allows for the box to be installed at a more accessible height for the weekly functional testing.

Always ensure that the cable doesn’t interfere with the door opening or closing. And, that the door can reach its full opening angle without pulling on the 320mm cable. The door closer has an operating voltage of 24V DC, so ensure a suitable transformer rectifier is installed.

The power can be a surface or concealed connection to the junction box. Once the power supply wires are connected to the box, secure the screw-on cover. The plug connector is pushed into the socket, then secured in place with a knurled locking nut.

The second, unused socket can be capped off. Then the door can be opened to the maximum angle before the door closer is tested using the integral test switch.
