The dormakaba SL30 is a heavy duty, high security motor lock for single action doors. It has a unique design allowing it to overcome up to 8mm of door misalignment and it opens reliability even under up to 600kg of sideload.
This electric door lock is suitable for 30 or 60 minute rated fire doors when installed with the appropriate intumescent kit, sold separately.
The SL30 is well suited to high traffic doors across a range of facilities. As this motorised lock is morticed it is ideal for environments prioritising security and aesthetics.

Overcoming Door Misalignment and Sideload Challenges
The dormakaba SL30SGL is designed to tackle common issues associated with electric locks: misalignment and sideload pressure.

The bolt pin will grab the strike plate allowing it to pull the door into position and accommodate up to 8mm of misalignment. This ensures that it will still lock and unlock effectively.
This electronic door lock incorporates a unique collapsing mechanism that remains deadbolted when locked but allows for unlocking upon request, even under a force of 6,000N applied to the door. With a sideload resistance of 600kg, the SL30 motor lock can release immediately making it well suited to high traffic areas where doors may experience pushing or pulling in various situations.
These features ensure reliable performance and security, even in the most demanding environments.
Flexibility with Fail Safe and Fail Secure Modes
This motorised door lock is easily switched between fail safe and fail secure modes at the time of installation with minimal effort. This is particularly advantageous for facilities managers who need to install multiple locks across a facility. Some areas may require fail safe operation, allowing free egress during emergencies, while others may demand the high security that fail secure offers.
Fire Rated for Safety Compliance
The dormakaba SL30SGL motor door lock is tested to BS EN 1634-1 and is suitable for 30 minute or 60 minute fire doors when installed with the appropriate intumescent kit, available separately. This ensures that your doors comply with fire safety regulations while maintaining the integrity of your security systems.
