The Alpro EB1001 Electric Lock: Installation and Maintenance

The Alpro EB1001 installation instructions are included in the box with the lock. They are also available as a downloadable PDF from the product documents section.

This solenoid bolt is designed for low maintenance as there’s no need for oiling or lubrication. Install the EB1001 with a 12V DC power supply with a minimum 2 amp output for reliable operation. Selecting the correct cable gauge is equally important to prevent voltage drop and ensure the lock functions as intended.

Alpro recommends carrying out maintenance checks every six months. Inspect the power supply connections, check the wiring condition, and clear away any debris to help maintain operation.

Complete Your Access Control System

Pair this solenoid bolt with a wide range of access control components. Our range includes power supply units, keypads and proximity readers, and exit buttons.

For added security, we recommend fitting a door closer to shut the door after every use. This reduces the chance of unauthorised access. Take a look at our full door closer selection, including concealed closers and floor springs, or contact our expert team for guidance.

From Electric Strikes to Bolts: Alpro Electric Lock Options

This Alpro EB1001 offers dependable monitored electric locking. It is a great choice for access control systems that demand reliability and performance.

The wider Alpro range includes a variety of electric locking options to suit different door types and security needs. The AL110 electric strike has dual operating voltage and is IP56 rated for weather resistance, making it ideal for external doors. For timber doors with rim locks, the AL150 provides a reliable strike solution. The EB250 is a high security monitored electric bolt with a slimline profile, perfect for narrow stile doors.

Why does my Alpro EB1001 bolt lock and then immediately unlock?
This issue is often caused by a burnt out solenoid. Lightly tap the bolt onto a clean surface. If black dust appears, the solenoid has failed and the unit needs replacing. If no residue is present, check the power supply to confirm it’s delivering a stable 12V DC with a minimum 2 amp output.
Why won’t my Alpro EB1001 electric bolt release?
First, check if the door or gate has dropped. If needed, lift it back into alignment and test the bolt. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, inspect the power supply. These solenoid bolts require a dedicated 2 amp 12V DC supply to operate correctly.
