Adams Rite 1354 Shearlock for High Security Doors

The Adams Rite 1354 is a mortice shearlock that provides secure and concealed locking for internal and protected external doors. It combines electromagnetic force with mechanical interlocking to deliver up to 1500kg of shear holding strength. 

Its compact 30mm wide body fits neatly into narrow aluminium, steel, or timber door frames. The locking point is protected from tampering and preserves a clean finish as the unit is hidden when the door is closed. 

Integrated anti-tamper monitoring provides real-time status feedback, supporting system visibility and reliability. The unit can be installed in the door head or vertical stile, making it a strong choice for discreet yet high security.

The slimline design of the Assa Abloy 1354 allows it to be installed in tighter door profiles, especially aluminium systems commonly found in commercial buildings. The concealed fixing not only supports a neat finish but also protects the locking mechanism by keeping it out of reach when the door is shut.

This makes it a practical and secure choice for door heads or vertical locking stiles where visible surface locks, such as maglocks, are not suitable. For surface mounted applications, Adams Rite offers the 281 standard maglock and the 261 slimline maglock.

Additional electric locking solutions in their range include the 1391 mortice solenoid bolt and the 7400 electric strike, providing flexibility across a wide range of door types and access control requirements.

This magnetic shear lock is well suited to doors protecting restricted areas or confidential operational infrastructure from unauthorised access. It provides high holding strength and real-time monitoring to support access control in environments such as:

To help maintain security, the unit automatically attempts to relock up to ten times.

Emergency Egress with Fail Safe Shear Lock

In the event of a power failure, the Adams Rite 1354 shearlock releases immediately to allow safe egress. This fail safe function supports life safety by ensuring that doors unlock during emergencies or fire alarm activation.
