Briton 2003v Overhead Door Closer Silver

The Briton 2003V ses door closer is a variant of the UK's No.1 selling door closing product, the Briton 2003. The Briton 2003V has a matching arm and cover and is easy to install and adjust on site. The fitting template is self-adhesive and the closer is supplied with standard fixings and installation instructions.

It is CE Marked, UKCA marked and Certifire Approved so you can be confident to install this durable overhead door closer to doors on accessible routes in high traffic buildings such as schools, hospitals, restaurants, and leisure facilities.

This overhead door closer is suitable for universal installation as one model can be fitted in the following configurations:

• Fig 1 / 61 - For pull side mounting / regular transom mounting
• Fig 66 - For push side mounting

Fig.66 is also known as parallel arm application.

The 2003v is not handed so it can be fitted to left handed or right handed side hung doors. It is supplied with all fixings for regular and transom applications and is suitable for use on non-fire rated and fire rated doors.

If you are installing this closer to a fully insulated or uninsulated steel based doorset, it should be fitted on the fire risk face of the door only if the 4 hour fire rating is to be achieved.

The mechanism is safety valve protected to prolong the life of the closer against abuse and misuse. The classic fabricated cover conceals fixings and adjustment screws, reducing the risk of vandalism. The 2003v has forged, heat treated and ground steel piston for rugged durability and high quality hydraulic fluid with in-built temperature compensation ensuring reliable operation in temperatures from -15°C to +40°C.

Briton 2003v Door Closer Adjustment

This rack and pinion overhead closer has both adjustable closing and latch speed for a smooth closing action. The separate latch action and closing speed adjustment provide total accuracy of adjustment of the whole closing cycle. To achieve the fire rating, the minimum requirement is for the closer to be installed at EN 3.

The adjustable power size 2-4 closer provides flexibility to fully adjust the closing power of the door control in order to achieve the low opening forces necessary to meet the requirements of Approved Document M of the Building Regulations and the guidance of BS 8300 in relation to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

• EN 2 - Suitable for doors up to 850mm wide and 40kg
• EN 3 - Suitable for doors up to 950mm wide and 60kg
• EN 4 - Suitable for doors up to 1100mm wide and 80kg

Adjustable backcheck helps to prevent damage t the door and frame. Information on all Briton 2003v adjustments is detailed in the installation instruction documents. The points of adjustment on the ends of the closer body are concealed when the cover is fixed in place.

The manufacturer recommends quarterly maintenance to ensure all fixings are present and tight, ensuring there is no fluid loss from the door closer, and applying a light machine oil to the joint of the arm and bracket. The overhead closer may also require some cleaning, which should be carried out in line with Briton's care of finish guidelines.
