In our current climate, we have seen a greater awareness of germs and bacteria, sanitisation of surfaces and our hands! We have all seen the adverts to “wash hands, cover face and make space” and find ourselves reaching for the anti-bac and spraying down our shopping trolleys in a bid to reduce the risk of Covid19, and other viruses spreading within our society.
With such an emphasis on hygiene, let us introduce to you, the HOPPE SecuSan® range; a complete range of stainless-steel ironmongery with a special surface coating that immediately suppresses and kills bacteria. Under ISO 22196:2011 standards, it has been tested and it was found to have a 99.9% reduction in bacteria on door and window handles after a 24-hour time period. The surface coating is both antimicrobial and antibacterial, providing active protection for all users.
A test was carried out where a thin layer of test bacteria was added to HOPPE SecuSan® (which contains silver ions), in a Petri dish which was then incubated for 24 hours. Amazingly, Escherichia Coli (EColi) was reduced by a massive 60% in just 5 minutes and Staphylococcus Aureus (including MRSA) was halved after 30 minutes. The antimicrobial properties are fast acting, ideal for environments requiring a high level of hygiene control.
HOPPE SecuSan® was noted to have “showed a significant bactericidal effect with all test bacteria” * and this is great news for all facilities, hospitals, schools, and care homes that require a high level of hygiene. These commercial door handles are completely maintenance free so no need to worry about wiping them down and the coating has a 5-year guarantee. One less job for the maintenance team!
HOPPE door furniture is manufactured in Germany and produced in facilities that are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 quality and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 environmental standards. They are known for their “Handle of excellence” motto.
At the time of writing this blog, HOPPE have submitted their SecuSan® range to a German Laboratory to undergo anti-viral testing and results are expected late summer 2021. Click here to see further information on this product from Hoppe.
